Mr Kannegieter is pleased to offer patients Durolane SJ Injections for foot and ankle arthritis. Durolane SJ is brand of hyaluronic acid (HA) injections from Bioventus.

Durolane SJ is a 1ml injection for the treatment of symptoms associated with mild to moderate osteoarthritis in the ankle, foot and toes. It is also indicated for pain following joint arthroscopy or within three months of joint surgery.

How does it work?

DUROLANE is a single injection treatment to relieve the pain of osteoarthritis in small and large joints by supplementing the less healthy HA in an affected joint. HA is naturally occurring molecule that provides the lubrication and cushioning in a normal and healthy joint. The HA in Durolane is produced by a safe and proven technology.

Are there risks or side-effects?

There are no known contraindications to Durolane. However it should not be used in the presence of infection or skin disease at the site of injection.

There are risks with every medical procedure, however the main ones for cortisone injections are;

• Pain
• Swelling
• Joint stiffness
