Expert Witness in Foot and Ankle Surgery

Mr Ewan Kannegieter provides independent medico-legal opinion within his defined areas of clinical expertise in foot and ankle medicine and surgery.

He is a UK Consultant Podiatric Surgeon with over 25 years’ experience, including more than 10 years at consultant level across NHS and private practice. His work focuses on balanced, evidence-based opinion, delivered in accordance with the duties of an expert witness under CPR Part 35.

Scope of Medico-Legal Practice

Medico-legal instruction is accepted in matters relating to:

• Foot and ankle injury and pathology

• Elective foot surgery and complications

• Diabetic foot disease and limb salvage

• Consent, standards of care, and clinical decision-making

• Post-operative outcomes, causation, and prognosis

Training and Governance

Mr Kannegieter has completed accredited expert witness report writing training and is undertaking the full Cardiff University Bond Solon Civil Expert Witness Certificate (CUBS) for completion in July 2026.
